Single Fund Investment Option
Consider this if: You’re looking to take a more focused approach to investing.
Sometimes you might want investment options that are highly focused. Perhaps you want to make your choice based on the investment type of a single underlying fund.
The Single Fund Investment Option offers a range of investment types designed to meet a variety of objectives.
Whatever your choice, a Single Fund Investment Option might be an investment path you wish to explore.
How the Single Fund Investment Option works
These Portfolios are each invested solely in shares of a single underlying fund. Their performance is entirely reliant on the performance of that underlying fund. You should be aware that participants do not own shares of the underlying funds directly. Each Single Fund Investment Option is described in more detail below.
Investment Name | Risk Level | Investment Objective | Allocation | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
U.S. Equity Index Portfolio | Aggressive | The U.S. Equity Index Portfolio seeks favorable long-term total return. |
|
||
Fixed Income Index Portfolio | Moderate | The Fixed Income Index Portfolio seeks to provide a moderate long-term rate of return primarily through current income. |
|
||
Socially Responsible Portfolio | Aggressive | The Socially Responsible Portfolio seeks favorable long-term total return while considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. |
|
The investment options are subject to the risks of the underlying funds including the loss of principal.
Responsible investing incorporates Environmental Social Governance (ESG) factors that may affect exposure to issuers, sectors, industries, limiting the type and number of investment opportunities available, which could result in excluding investments that perform well.
Things to consider
Changing your investments
Once you invest in a particular Portfolio, you can transfer contributions and any earnings to another Portfolio up to twice per calendar year or upon a transfer of funds to a WA529 Invest account for a different beneficiary.
Periodically reviewing your investments
It’s a good idea to periodically reevaluate your investment strategy as your goals, investment horizon and personal situation change—for example, annually at tax time, on a yearly basis if your income changes or upon the birth of another child.
